This is a photo intervention that creates a level of reality where this pattern is already doing its work in this place. This pattern was created to support the healing of ancestral trauma, past, present, and future connected to forced family separations. These forced separations have been used violently to break the spirit of people and are sometimes part of circumstances related to systemic problems. In this application the pattern is applied to the walls of a building where thousands of people were forcibly separated from their loved ones for economic profit through chattel slavery. The pattern offers support and healing to the ancestors and descendants of these familie, to the land and place, and even to the people, ancestors, and descendants of the people who separated the families.
